Introduction

Life in the hospital is organized around two main sectors: neurology and traumatology/orthopedics. Each of the “neurology” and “traumatology / orthopedics” sector is supervised by medical practitioners specialized in physical and rehabilitation medicine.

Each sector also has its own secretary dealing, along with the patient’s management service, with admissions and administrative formalities for each patient.

Both ambulatory and stationary cares are provided.

This secretary also provides patients with an individual timetable for the therapies as well as useful information for the period of the stay. It finally handles the redaction of all documents and medical reports required for the care.

The medical staff takes part in the care process during the entire stay of the patient in an multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary way: auxiliary nurses, social workers, dieticians, occupational therapists, hygienist, nurses, swimming instructors, physiotherapists, sports instructors, speech therapists, orthoptists, psychologists and neuropsychologists, psychomotricians, biomechanical engineer and patients handlers collaborate between both sectors depending on their specialties.

A lot of services (administration, logistics,…) support the efforts making possible the efficiency and quality of the medical and therapeutical care.

A large underground parking area as well as outdoor parking lots offer 350 parking spaces.

Medical Consultation

Before each given treatment provided in our establishment called Rehazenter, the patient has to be seen in a medical consultation by one of our doctors spezialized in physical medicine and rehabilitation.
During your admission into the Rehazenter we need you to provide the following documents :

  • Identity Card or Passport,
  • Health Insurance card,
  • Medico-surgical card, Prestaplus or any other complementary healthcare insurance,
  • Les courriers, examens médicaux, CD, radiographies, biologies concernant votre état de santé actuel et antécédents,
  • Letter from the referring practitioner,
  • Letters, Medical exams, CD, X-rays, biology concerning your actual health and your antecedents,
  • List of your medication.

We thank you for presentingyourself to the medical secretary ¼ hour before the appointment time to facilitate the processing of your file.

Formalities of Admission

You know the time and date of your admission. We need you to respect this schedule. Please check in with these documents at the admission counter (= service of admission)that you will find on the ground floor of the building.

Upon your admission to Rehazenter please submit the following documents:

  • Identity Card or Passport
  • Affiliation card to the Social Security
  • Letter from the doctor who sends you if you have one
  • The address and telephone number of a contact person and / or trusted

We also ask you:

  • The European Health Insurance Card or the replacement certificate and, if applicable, the S2 form if you are affiliated with a foreign sickness fund
  • Assumption of responsibility for your stay if you are affiliated with the RCAM (Common Scheme of the Insurances Diseases)

Working hours of the admission counter:

  • Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Departure

Before you leave the Rehazenter make sure you have checked your paid deposits with the admission counter for guarantees or anything you might have paid in advance. Do not forget to give back you Telephone/TV card as well as your access card.

Check out Time and Date

It is you and your doctor who decide the time and date of your leave. Before you leave the service, we ask you to have the kindness to inform a member of the medical staff.

Warning: The presence of one of the parents or the legal guardian carrying an identity card is required for minors checking out.

Newsstand

You can find a newsstand on the ground floor.Working hours( Working schedule) of the newsstand are:

  • Monday – Friday : 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

  • Treats

Restaurant/Cafeteria

Our restaurant – cafeteria is open to external people. Its pleasant setting allows you to meet in a friendly and warm way with your friends and relatives. The cafeteria restaurant offers you a rich and varied menu.

The opening hours of the restaurant and the cafeteria are from 7:00 to 20:00 7 days a week.

ATM

We inform you that you can find an ATM (Bancomat) on the ground level to draw cash or fill up your mini-cash card.

Parking

The Rehazenter has an underground parking area which sub-level 1 is reserved to patients and visitors of the Center. The entrance is located on the west part, near the suppliers entrance.

Parking is charged.

Fees for the underground parking area are:

  • 1,00 € / hour for visitors and patients who choose not to have an access card.
  • 1,00 € / hour, with a maximum limit upto 3,00 € per day, for patients with an access card.

The access card to the parking area is available at the admission counter on the ground floor after a guarantee deposit of 20 € is made. It is a prepaid card and requires a prior money fill up.

At the end of your treatment, please check with the Admission Counter for your deductions.

Patients without access card and visitors have to get their parking tickets through the parking machines (one in the main entrance hall on the ground floor and one on sub-level 1) to be able to exit the parking area.

There is also an outside parking area (near the main entrance). This parking area is for short time parking with a higher cost of 1.50€ per hour.

Visiting hours

Patients can be visited during the following hours:

  • From 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. during week days (=from monday to friday)
  • From 14:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on weekends

Incoming Mail

The incoming mail is delivered every day. Ask your correspondents to write your full name and your room number on the envelope. Mail must be addressed to:

To send mail, give your stamped letters to the nurse or to the front desk to be found in the entrance hall.

Tariffs

You can rent a telephone and/or a TV. Please make your demand to the admission counter during your admission. The Phone/TV system works with the same card on which a 10€ guarantee is deposited when you make your demand. The renting prices for the phone and/or TV are:

A handbook for both the TV and the phone will be given to you , while you are making your demand.
NOTE: For obvious safety measures, it is strictly forbidden to use mobile phones (GSM) inside the Rehazenter.

The radio is integrated into the calling system and allows the reception of 22 programs. This service is available for free to all patients.

The Rehazenter declines all responsibility in case of loss or steal of any valuable item or cash.

We strongly recommend that you carry only the minimum cash you need. All our rooms have a safe at your disposal, free of charge. To know how to use the safe, please refer to the medical staff of your care unit.

May your safe be damaged, please inform the nurse of your care unit who will then contact the maintenance service.

Each room has one fridge per patient. Its use is free of charge.

Drinks vending machines can be found on the ground level and on sub-level 1. They supply you with drinks which prices are listed below. On each floor you can find water fountains. If you are hospitalized you can ask the nurse for a bottle of still water (0.50€ for 1.5L).

If you are hospitalized, you can request a bottle of still water (1.5 l to 0.50 €) to the caregiver.

In order to constantly improve the functioning of our hospital, we would be grateful if you could make any comments, criticisms or suggestions on a slip sheet in the suggestion boxes available at the Hospital, to the hospitalization units 1 and 3 , at the Patient Management Unit or at the Planning Office when you leave the hospital or during your stay.

Rights and duties

Extract from the 28th of August 1998 Law regarding hospitals

Art. 36.
Patients have a right to access their individual file in person or through a medical practitioner designated by the patient, whether the practitioner is appointed to the establishment or not. The hospital has to provide the patient or the medical practitioner with copies of the elements from the file. They can also access the file on site.

Art. 37.
Every patient has access to preventive, curative or palliative care required by the patient’s health in accordance with data acquired through scientific procedures and with deontology.
Treatments have to be organized as to guarantee their continuity in all circumstances.

Art. 38.
Every patient’s private life must be protected: confidentiality, dignity and respect of religious and philosophic beliefs.

Art. 39.
Except in case of an emergency, the patient has a right to choose the hospital and the medical staff among those in practice in the chosen establishment.

Art. 40.
During the admission at the hospital or at the specialized medical center and during the stay, patients have a right to be fully informed of their health condition as well as the available treatments. It is the medical staff duty to inform the patients of their condition. These information can be completed by the other members of the medical care staff in respect of the applicable rules of deontology.
Patients have a right to refuse any diagnosis or therapeutic intervention without prejudicing dispositions of article 7, paragraphs 2 and 3, of the 10th of August 1992 Law regarding youth protection. All considered, patients have a right to a treatment designed to reduce their pain and suffering.

Art. 41.
All patients of the same hospital or specialized medical center have a right to care of equal quality. They have, as long as their health condition requires it, an equal right to access all therapeutic or diagnosis means and equipments the hospital or specialized medical center may have at its disposal, without prejudice of priority or level of urgency of the care.

Art. 42.
Each hospital or specialized medical center has internal rules stating measures to guarantee the safety of patients and visitors. These rules also specify the hours and conditions to visit patients.

Art. 43.
In case of an incurable affection in terminal phase, doctors must do whatever they can to ease the patient’s physical or moral suffering by providing appropriate treatment, avoiding hopeless overuse of intensive medication and keeping the patient’s survival as easy as possible. Doctors must see (=assist) to the dying patient to the end and allow the patient to keep his dignity. Doctors will as well provide the patient’s relatives with the appropriate assistance to ease their pain in these difficult moments. During the last moments, patients have the right to have the person of their choice at their side under conditions respecting their dignity.

Art. 44.
The hospital or the specialized medical center adequately informs patients of the dispositions of the current article, of the financial modalities of their stay including the fees to be paid by the patient.

Art. 45.
The identity of care and service providers must be easily accessible at every moment by patients with whom they will have contact.

Art. 46.

In each hospital the director sets up a system of processing and breaking down suggestions, grievances and complaints addressed to the direction. Without prejudice to the previous disposition the Health Director investigates any complaint from a patient regarding a disrespect for the present law or, more generally, regarding malfunctioning of any hospital.
During the investigation duty the Health Director or his regional delegate public servant has access to the plaintiff’s file defined in article 36 of the present law.
The Health Director informs the plaintiff (=the complaining patient) and the hospital director of the results of the investigation. In case of the patient being minor, legally or mentally incapacitated or deceased, the complaint can be issued by the legal guardian or by a relative of the patient giving proof of a moral or material interest.
By this document we inform you that some of your personal data are processed by computer. The Rehazenter is responsible for this data processing. You have a right to access your personal data and to have them modified if necessary. The Rehazenter has done everything to ensure the protection of your personal data against accidental or illegal destruction as well as to protect them from unauthorized access in respect of the medical and professional secrecy.

Smoking Ban

We must inform you that according to the 11th of August 2006 Law concerning anti-smoking, it is, as stated in article 6.1 of the latter law, forbidden to smoke inside the entire hospital. One smoking area is available to stationary patients on floor N+1 at the end of the hall.

Tolerance zones are also provided outside at the back of the building and in front of the main entrance. Ashtrays are attached to the ramps. Thank you for using them.
